The Beatles.
Liverpool is the hometown of the Beatles. They were all born in Liverpool. John Lennon is considered to be the organizer and the leader of the group.He was born on the 9th of October, 1940, in Liverpool. John enjoyed painting. He was not a good pupil and the teachers didn’t like him; he was fond of music and his mother bought him a guitar, so he spent a lot of hours playing different melodies. One day he had the idea to organize a band. The group was formed and called themselves the Quarry Men. In 1956 Lennon met Paul McCartney.
Paul McCartney was born on the 18th of June in 1942.His mother was a nurse. His father was an employer. His family loved music, so Paul learnt to compose songs on his piano in childhood. Then he asked father to buy him a guitar, he had to rearrange the strings because he was left-handed. Paul and John met for the first time in the church square in Vulton
Paul McCartney joined the group; they had a lot of concerts. One of his first ballads “And I love her” is devoted to his girlfriend Jane Asher. Soon they found a manager, Brian Epstein, who gave them a new image.
George Harrison was born on the 12th of February, 1943, in a big family. He was not fond of music in his childhood, but later he taught himself to play the guitar. George met Paul McCartney on the bus. They became friends and had the same interests. Harrison played the guitar better than Paul, and was invited to the group as the leading guitarist.
Ringo Starr was born on the 7th of July, 1940. He was invited to the group in summer 1962.
So the group was formed. The Beatles changed pop music forever. Their first song “Love me Do” was released in 1962. People loved them, because their songs were beautiful and exciting. In 1964 the film “A hard day’s night” was made, in this film we can see The Beatles and enjoy their songs.
The song “Yesterday” is the most famous; it was performed by 355 singers and orchestras in Britain, by 194 in European countries and by 637 in the USA. “Yesterday” is a romantic ballad; it has a very interesting origin. He composed the melody when he was cooking breakfast, that’s why he named the song “Scrambled eggs” at first, but he could not think of the words. The words came after several days and they were so charming, that it was necessary to change the name of the song.
